It has been confirmed this summer’s UEFA Euro 2016 DLC will be free for all PES 2016 owners. At this stage it still hasn’t been announced exactly what this will entail but that it will be free and in the form of a data pack.
Konami is aware that many fans haven’t been pleased with the omission of certain players in the Data Pack 1 and that it took a long time to deliver. It looks as if this is their way of repaying the fans who have continued to support the franchise.
Erik Bladinieres of Konami had this to comment, “It has been a difficult few months for the fans in how we have been delivering content in our recent Data Packs, with some items missing that our consumers expected. The PES Production team appreciate their fans’ support and want to reward their support and bring back confidence in the Data Pack releases. With this announcement, we hope we can regain their trust. The next Data Pack is scheduled for early December, including the Maracana stadium, more faces, new national team kits, club teams and the player roster which was confirmed on October 19th. We strive to keep delivering quality content to our fans, for free. The content of the UEFA EURO 2016 content has yet to be defined, but all content delivered by Data Pack featuring EURO for next year’s prestigious tournament will be free to all existing users.”
Meanwhile Data Pack 2 is scheduled to be released in December 2015. It will include the Maracana Stadium, national team kits, more player faces, updated rosters and more.
Konami has the official license for Euro 2016. This adds to the exclusive Champions League license. The last European Championships game was officially licensed by EA and was a premium download alongside FIFA 12.
